Rasheeda Saka

Rasheeda Saka is a third-year student in the English Department, pursuing certificates in African-American Studies and Creative Writing. At Princeton, she is a Mellon Mays Fellow, Peer Academic Advisor for Rocky College, member of the English Department’s Undergraduate Advisory Council, and the co-Editor-in-Chief of the Nassau Literary Review. Saka’s major fields of research are Anglophone and Francophone literatures of Africa, postcolonial Caribbean literature; literary and critical theory; the African diaspora; the problematics of migration in literature; and gender and sexuality studies. In April 2018, Saka was selected as one of the eight honorees for the 2018 Breakout 8 Writers Prize, a joint initiative led by “Epiphany” magazine and the Authors Guild.
